Update on Letter Writing Campaign

Letter of Support of Jeannette K Murphy – DOC 273043

Dawn Vrentas has initiated a letter writing campaign on behalf of Jeannette.

Once you have completed your support letter send it to
Dawn Vrentas at: dawn330@gmail.com

or give her a call - (206)743-5266

On April 4th 2012 she sent out emails requesting letters of support for Jeannette:
“I, along with the guidance and support of a few of my social work colleagues, have begun doing some serious advocacy on Jeannette's behalf.
I am initiating this process with a letter writing campaign, hoping to get as many letters of support for Jeannette from both people who have a personal connection to Jeannette and from community members who do not know her personally but feel compelled to speak out on her behalf. (The letter can include) a brief description of how she has impacted your life (and/or) how you know her. Giving specific examples is best, describing a time Jeannette interacted with you in a positive way or a specific example of how you have seen Jeannette acting in a positive way in the prison. The letter should be concise…. Convey your message in a powerful short message."

On April 9, 2012 - an email from Dawn:
“Thank you for your response. I appreciate your quick reply, as I haven’t gotten many responses from the emails she gave me, which is a bit discouraging.”

On April 12, 2012 an email from Dawn:
“I am in school, but I'm in school working on my masters in social work, so for the past year all I have learned about is advocacy and several SW students had gotten involved in her case, so I would really like to stay leading the part I initiated, mainly letter writing. How ever you and Alice want to go about the blog is fine. I have plans to get many post prison programs involved and have support from UW school of Social Work and law school, many churches and other organizations who have voiced support.  I have a pretty good handle on the letter writing portion. Just need all the letters to starts coming to me.”
On April 23rd an email from Dawn again emailed asking for the support letters:
“I have not received word from many people (only 2) about being willing to write a letter of support. I was hoping to at least get a yes or some communication as to who was willing to support. I would greatly appreciate you letting me know, or better yet, sending me a brief letter of support for Jeannette so that I can begin compiling all of them.”
Dawn and her colleges are working hard on the letter writing campaign.  It’s our job to get our letters to her.
